Gaurav Dwivedi

Gaurav Dwivedi is an Indian media strategist, film policy expert, public administrator, and actor with nearly two decades of experience across journalism, cinema, governance, and cultural policy.

He began his professional journey as a television journalist, working with leading Indian news channels including Aaj Tak and Zee News, where he developed extensive expertise in media, communications, and public affairs.

After journalism, he transitioned into the film industry as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of acclaimed filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma's production company, gaining hands-on experience in film production and entertainment management.

In 2015, Gaurav Dwivedi was appointed Vice Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council, holding the rank of Minister of State. During his tenure, he played a key role in transforming Uttar Pradesh into one of India's most attractive destinations for film production. Under his leadership, more than 100 films were shot across the state, contributing significantly to tourism, employment, and investment.

His efforts helped Uttar Pradesh receive the prestigious National Film Award for Most Film Friendly State in 2016 and 2017.

As the official representative of the Uttar Pradesh Government, he participated in internationally recognized platforms including the Cannes Film Festival and IIFA Madrid, promoting India's film ecosystem on the global stage.

Beyond administration, Gaurav has also appeared as an actor in several Hindi films including:

He is also credited with designing and advising the film policies for the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. While serving as an advisor to the Chhattisgarh Government, he helped build a film-friendly ecosystem and contributed to improving the state's national perception through cinema and creative industries.

An alumnus of Cardiff University, United Kingdom, Gaurav studied under the prestigious British Chevening Scholarship.

In February 2024, he received the Indo-UK Achievers Award in London in the Society & Policy category for his outstanding contributions to governance, public policy, and the film industry.
